As I put the post on Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, I realized something. I completely forgot to Post about Birth By Sleep. Well, how dare I completely forget this game. I actually liked this game. So I say to myself, “Self Go Post about This game.” When it came out, I quietly cried to myself, because yet another Kingdom Hearts installment was NOT for a major consul. The thing that made me extra sad was the fact it came out for PSP. My brother had a PSP and the dumb shit, broke it…some few months after he got it. Forlorn, I sulked until I received my report card. I had good grades and get a wonderful idea. I call my mother and tell her about my wonderful grades, and ask if I could get myself a present for good grades. She asks what. I tell her “Oh, a PSP.” She of course asks how much it costs. “Like a hundred” (complete lie) She agrees and off I go to gamestop. Instead of buying the used PSP which was like $100, I buy the deluxe silver addition with Birth By sleep included with it. It was like $200…I didn’t tell my mom that.
Anyway, my friend already has this game, so of course he starts begging me to go to the arena with him. I started out as Ven, so I walk Ven’s happy butt to the arena to be greeted by his level 40 something Aqua. Long story short, I got my ass kicked hard, (my friend said raped in the face hard) and that’s how bad I lost. I left sulking and proceeded to play by myself, until I though my Ven had leveled up enough to take on his Aqua.
I march into the Arena with my Olympus Key blade thinking I’m a total bad ass!!! And there is that damn Aqua again…Level 61…all abilities maxed out…with some No Name Keyblade…WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SHIT!!!!
I died again…It was like watching a rottweiler attack a chihuahua. Anyway I didn’t fight him again…cause I was scared, but I didn’t hesitate to play with him if we tag teamed his sister. That or to have him help level me up. I still refused to fight him until I had completed my aqua story, and too maxed out all her abilities. However I still have yet to get the No Name Keyblade, because in order to get it you have to fight the Mysterious Figure back at the Land of Departure… he is a total bitch!!!!!
I can’t remember how many times I fought this douche bag and got my butt kicked, again, and again, and again…did I mention and again. My friend said he was easier to beat as Terra…but man, after the eleven billion times dying as Aqua, I gave up. “Screw this keyblade.” I says to myself.
Anyway I fought my friend, I was like level 64 or something, and It was finally relatively well matched despite my disadvantage without the No Name. We would cart-wheel around like retards and shoot balls of light at one another until someone died.
All together I enjoyed this game, relieved that Square Enix finally released a game on a Sony product for one instead of the DS. Despite all my frustrations, I enjoyed sucking Unversed into tornadoes of doom, obliterating entire groups as rocks shot up from the ground, or raped countless unversed with spiraling balls of light. Despite Terra’s stupid dodge…(which made me mad the entire time I played as him) I had oddles of fun playing this game. I strongly recommend it for Kingdom Hearts fans.
Sadly this may be the last kingdom Hearts I play for a while until they finally release Kingdom Hearts III for a major consile…IF THEY EVER DO!!! Again Square Enix torture me with Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, and now Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance (Kingdom Hearts 3D), so unless I buy a damn DS I will just have to suffer with my bloody, RPG, shooters.
For all those people who want the entire back story for this thing…well I was nice enough to supply it. Here you go.
Warning Contains Spoilers
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep begins in the Land of Departure, where three Keyblade wielders and close friends—Terra, Aqua, and Ventus (more commonly known as Ven)—train to become Keyblade Masters under Master Eraqus. To achieve this rank, Keyblade Apprentices must take the Mark of Mastery exam once they come of age. Terra and Aqua take this test together, but while Aqua passes the test, Terra is deemed unfit to become a Keyblade Master due to the abundant darkness in his heart. Afterward, a group of mysterious creatures called the Unversed begin to surface in other worlds, and another Keyblade Master, Xehanort, disappears without a trace. Terra is sent to destroy the Unversed and find Master Xehanort, who had earlier encouraged him to embrace the darkness in his heart if he desires the strength to become a Keyblade master. Ven, meanwhile, is goaded into following Terra by Xehanort’s mysterious apprentice Vanitas, against Eraqus’s wishes. Aqua is dispatched by Eraqus to survey Terra and keep him from falling into darkness, as well as to bring Ventus back to the Land of Departure.
Upon arriving in other worlds, Terra, Aqua, and Ventus encounter various Disney characters, new and old, fighting off hordes of Unversed along the way. Among the characters they meet is Mickey Mouse, apprentice of the sorcerer Yen Sid, who is also on a mission to destroy the Unversed. Terra ends up attracting the attention of several Disney villains, who offer him the whereabouts of Master Xehanort in exchange of assistance for their own dark agendas. Terra reasons that Master Xehanort is after the seven Princesses of Heart—maidens who lack darkness in their hearts—and encourages Aqua to help them strengthen the light in their hearts, hoping it will draw Master Xehanort out. However, Aqua and Ven grow increasingly concerned for Terra when they hear rumors of him committing sinister deeds throughout other worlds. The three briefly reunite at Radiant Garden, where Aqua meets Kairi, a young girl containing a strong and pure light in her heart, and helps strengthen her light. Aqua and Ven also confront Terra, who distances himself from them to keep them out of the way of his increasingly dangerous dark powers. Terra and Aqua try to convince Ven to return to the Land of Departure, but he refuses until he is certain Terra won’t fall into darkness.
Terra and Aqua eventually find themselves at Destiny Islands, where they encounter two young boys, Sora and Riku. Terra sees potential within Riku and deems him worthy of one day wielding the Keyblade, while Aqua senses strong ties with Sora and Riku to Ven and Terra, respectively. Ven, meanwhile, comes across Master Xehanort, who reveals his intentions to use Ven’s heart to create a final Keyblade known as the χ-blade, something Master Xehanort says Master Eraqus had known all along. Ven returns to the Land of Departure to confront Eraqus, who tries to erase Ven to prevent Master Xehanort’s plans from succeeding. However, Terra, who had been sent there by Xehanort, misinterprets the situation and attacks Eraqus, teleporting Ven to safety. As soon as Terra realizes his error, Master Xehanort arrives and cruelly kills Eraqus and tells Terra to go to the Keyblade Graveyard, leaving the Land of Departure to be consumed by darkness. At Destiny Islands, Ven once again encounters Vanitas and learns of his hazy past: Ventus was once Master Xehanort’s apprentice, but his heart was deemed too frail for Master Xehanort to use him as he intended, so he extracted the darkness in Ven’s heart and used it to create Vanitas. As with Terra before him, Ven is instructed by Vanitas to go to the Keyblade Graveyard. Aqua, in the meantime, learns of Eraqus’s death from Yen Sid, who tells her to go to the Keyblade Graveyard as well.
Terra, Aqua, and Ventus gather at the Keyblade Graveyard, where the remains of the mysterious Keyblade War are found. Master Xehanort appears with Vanitas and reveals his plan to use the χ-blade to unlock Kingdom Hearts and unleash the forbidden secrets of the Keyblade War onto the various worlds, as well as to use Terra’s body as a new vessel for his own heart so that he may survive long enough to see his plans come to fruition. An epic battle ensues, with Xehanort freezing Ven, and Vanitas knocking Aqua unconscious. In his rage, Terra unleashes the darkness in his heart, inadvertently allowing Xehanort to unlock his own heart and successfully transfer it into Terra’s body, which results in the birth of a new, younger Xehanort. However, Terra’s mind continues to linger in his discarded suit of Armor, which comes to life and defeats Xehanort. Ven, meanwhile, manages to thaw himself before Vanitas can kill Aqua, and discovers his dark counterpart to be the source of all Unversed. Vanitas merges with Ven, possessing him and creating the χ-blade. Aqua awakens under Mickey’s care, and the two fight the possessed Ventus while he battles Vanitas from within. Aqua shatters the χ-blade as Ven destroys Vanitas, bringing an end to the Unversed, though Ven’s heart is lost in the process. The destroyed χ-blade unleashes a burst of light, which consumes everyone present and scatters them to the corridors of space, save for Terra’s Lingering Will, which remains in the Keyblade Graveyard.
Mickey saves Aqua and Ventus and brings them to the Mysterious Tower, where Aqua learns that Ven has fallen into a deep sleep and will not awaken until his heart returns. Aqua brings Ven back to the ruins of the Land of Departure, where she discovers Master Eraqus’s Keyblade, and uses it to unlock the Chamber of Waking and recreates the world as Castle Oblivion from the ruins. After leaving Ven within the chamber, Aqua goes to Radiant Garden where she encounters Master Xehanort still in Terra’s body, but having lost some of his memories. Aqua then battles Xehanort who after the fight attempts to unlock his heart, losing his memories completely in the process. Soon after, Terra’s body starts sinking into darkness, but Aqua dives into the darkness and saves Terra from disappearing. Realizing her glider won’t be able to make it back through the portal in time, Aqua sacrifices herself by discarding her armor and using it to guide her glider, Terra-Xehanort in tow, back through the portal leaving herself behind and lost in the Realm of Darkness. Xehanort is discovered by Ansem the Wise, ruler of Radiant Garden, and goes on to become his apprentice. Ventus’s wandering heart finds its way to young Sora, merging with the young boy’s heart.
An unlockable secret ending shows the hearts of Terra and Master Xehanort lying dormant in Xehanort’s body, waiting to see which will control it in the end, with Eraqus’s heart revealed to be sealed within Terra’s. It also shows a recovered Xehanort walking with Braig as Ansem the Wise and Ienzo pass by. Shortly after the end of Kingdom Hearts II, Aqua encounters Ansem the Wise in the Dark Margin. Ansem, who had survived the explosion of his Kingdom Hearts Encoder with few of his memories remaining, reveals to Aqua that while darkness threatens to swallow the worlds again, hope lies in the form of Sora, who prepares to set out on another journey to help all of those whose hearts are connected to his.
Until again…my Kingdom Hearts junkies.
Ok ok, Spyro and Cynder live. I am quiet happy about that. But everyones question is… is this the last Spyro game? Almost everyone on the Internet says it is the last Spyro, well NO!! They are wrong!! This is the Last Spyro in The Legend Of Spyro trilogy, but not of Spyro entirely. Mike Graham, Associate Producer for Sierra Entertainment went in for a Q&A before the Release of Dawn of the Dragon. He said, & I Quote ” Without a doubt, there will be more Spyro games in the future. The entire purpose of the trilogy was to re-establish the characters and the world in a way that would allow for growth and expansion. We’ve only scratched the surface.” So There, this is not the end of our beloved Purple dragon, but the beginning. Do you honestly think the Game designers at Sierra Entertainment would limit their wonderfully first free-flight Spyro game. This game is jam packed with melee combat moves, cool new breath abilities, and much much more. I Don’t think Sierra would keep this all for one game only. I wouldn’t. This year Spyro celebrates his tenth anniversary and lets keep it going for many years to come.
I finally beat the game The Legend of Spyro, Dawn of the Dragon during my spring break. It was AWESOME!!!! It was one of those games that filled me with anger and joy at the same time. At the Ending, Spyro and Cynder finally fight Malafor and Ibeat him. Awesome right? Well no! It turns out despite the fact you beat Malafor, The giant Lava monster thing still crawls in the earth and blows it up. How horrible!! But Spyro has this realization while the world is crumpling, that he is destined to save it. Cynder tells Spyro she will not leave him while the world is falling apart. Spyro then projects some huge force-field thing, thus stopping the earth from falling apart. While this is all happening Cynder whispers over the explosion I LOVE YOU!! Yes she finally confesses she is in love with him. Then it shows the world saved. La di dah. Who cares? My concern at this time is what happened to Cynder and Spyro. Are They Dead? I was so broken hearted at the ending I almost cryed. I thought they were Dead. But then I waited after the credits, like every good gamer should, to see if there was a secret ending like there was in the other two Legend of Spyro Games. Low and Behold there was!!! It shows Ignitis becoming the new Chronicler, and his search for the missing dragons, Spyro and Cynder. Guess what their not dead!! They survived the explosion and it shows them briefly fly by. Yay they lived!!
Destroy all humans-Path of The Furon will sadly not be released until (tear) next month. It was originally due to be released in October but was then moved to November and now to the first week of December. It’s so sad i want to cry, not really but I’m not happy. My co-worker and i were dieing for this to come out now we have to wait longer UGH!! But the good news is the Twilight movie comes out in four days!!!!
Since Eternal Night, three years have passed and Cynder and Spyro are older. I didn’t even know about this till today. So i looked on photobucket and they have pictures of them, very few, but they have them. They are larger more adult looking. I’m not really a fan, there kind of creepy. Hunter, after being absent for three Spyro games comes back as Hunter of Avalar. Avalar isn’t that funny. If you think about it the old Spyro game where you first met Hunter was in the world of Avalar, funny Hugh. Anyway Hunter has had a extreme make over.
It is really hard to find a good picture of Hunter, but he appears more detailed then ever. Now Hunter’s cool looking. Here is a pic of all three of them, Cynder, Spyro, and Hunter, where Spyro and Cynder finally meet Hunter. It’s funny Spyro and Sparx have already met Hunter.
The Legend of Spyro
A New Beginning
Spyro is still being made by Sierra but he has a new look and a new story. The old dragged on story line is gone. Spyro and Sparx have a new look…
He’s pretty much the same Spyro but kinda tougher looking. His nose, body structure, and horns are really the only difference. This is also the first game all the other dragons in it walk on four legs like Spyro. Previous games young dragons walked on four sometimes but older ones always walked on two. The worlds are complex, sort of in a realm of underdevelopment were it’s mostly nature and the civilizations are primitive. You play Spyro who was adopted by dragonfly’s when he was just an egg. He finds out he came from another world where there are other dragons, Guardians in fact who posses talents in manipulating the elements.
As their colors show each is a master of a different element. Ignitus- Master of Fire, Volteer- Master of electricy, Cyril- Master of Ice, and Terrador- Master of Earth. These guardians have disappeared as well as all other dragons because the Dark Master, (AKA Malafor)
plans to take over all the worlds. Unfortunately for Malefor he is currently trapped, in an alternate universe. The Dark master then creates a powerful puppet to do his dirty work, a female dragon named Cynder.
Cynder was kidnapped when she was just an egg, while the temple was being destroyed by the dark master, where Spyro is originally from too. She was brainwashed and manipulated by the Dark Master, causing her to be evil and grow to a extreme size. Cynder kidnaps the Guardians and harnesses their power of the elements to open a portal to free the Dark Master. Spyro must fight threw Cynder’s minions to save the dragon guardians and ultimately stop Cynder herself. Once she is defeated she reverts back to her original size, about the same as Spyro’s, and is no longer influenced by Malafor.
This is what I always expected of Spyro. Challenging, hard at times, and fun. Some people don’t like the now look and layout but I like it. The levels are complex and the villains don’t die after one hit. 4.9 out of 5. I also added the ending clip to the game, so if you haven’t beat it, i suggest not watching this. It doesn’t include the secret ending though, i couldn’t find it.
The Legend of Spyro
The story begins with Spyro following Cynder through the jungle surrounding the Dragon Temple. Spyro catches up with her and asks her not to leave, revealing that he does hold some feelings for her. Cynder then leaves saying she doesn’t want to hurt Spyro. Cynder runs off, leaving Sparx and Spyro alone. Soon after she is gone, the Temple is attacked by an army of apes. After Spyro repels the attack, Ignitus, the leader of the dragons and master of fire, sends Spyro to seek out a tree that Spyro saw in a vision(that in his dream, he gets his powers back as he lost them at the end in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning) while Ignitus looks for help against the Apes. As Spyro searches for the tree, he also searches for another dragon known as the Chronicler, who asked Spyro in a vision to find him. As he searches, Spyro is captured by pirates, and taken on board their ship.
After Spyro escapes the pirate ship, he discovers that the Apes have established a base on the Well Of Souls, in an effort to revive the Dark Master using a lunar alignment called the Night of Eternal Darkness. He also discovers that they are keeping Cynder prisoner hoping to turn her to their side.
Spyro eventually finds the Chronicler, who tells him about the Dark Master. According to him, the Dark Master was the first purple dragon; his raw power allowed him to master practically every elemental power. When his growth failed to stop, he was exiled and sealed away by the dragon elders, but not before he taught the Apes how to use dragon magic. The Chronicler wants Spyro to hide from the Apes until a later time, but Spyro insist on going to Cynder’s aid.
When he gets to the mountain, the Ape King, Gaul, orders Cynder to attack Spyro. When she attacks Gaul instead, he knocks her out and challenges Spyro himself. During the fight, the lunar alignment comes, and the evil energy it generates is channeled through Spyro. He uses his immense power to kill Gaul, and then leaps back into the beam of evil energy. Cynder awakens and knocks Spyro out of the beam, freeing him from the beam’s power. When the alignment passes, the mountain crumbles around Spyro, Sparx and Cynder. Spyro uses his powers to encase them in crystal to protect them from the collapsing mountain..
The Legend of Spyro
Dawn of the Dragon
After 3 years have passed imprisoned in the crystal, it is broken apart and Spyro, Cynder, and Sparx are freed. Spyro and Cynder are much older looking. While still unconsience, Cynder and Spyro were chained together majically with a rope so they can not go far without the other. They are stuck inside the catacombs and have to get out. After several waves of enemies and a huge Golem that attacks they manage to get out, and find Sparx with the mysterious Hunter of Avalar. Hunter shows them the destruction Malafor has caused since he was freeded from the Well of Souls. But before more can be explained, they are captured by Hunter’s tribe.
This is the first Spyro game ever that allows you to have a two player c0-op. You can play as either Spyro or Cynder, switch between them, or grab a friend and play together, and beat the whole game. The levels are much larger and are more fun to explore, and collecting gems(they never seem to go away) can be crucial to game progress. Spyro still retains fire, ice, electricity, and earth, but Cynder can use fear, wind, poison, and shadow. (Side note: I like playing as Cynder.)
You progress through vast levels and are sometimes asked to complete specific tasks before moving on. You come to the Dragon City, where you are reunited with the Guardians, but must fight a vast dark army and fight that darn Golem again and again till you blow his butt up!!! Unfortunately once that is done the Dark Master summons a huge beast from his volcano to destroy the Dragon City. This creature is freaking huge and a pain to kill. Once you flood the dam and blow his butt up, Ignitus takes you to the entrance to Malafor’s Lair area, and … well…(lets just say a moment of Silence) Spyro and Cynder go through this huge volcanic level and eventually climb up the rocks and make it to Malafor’s surprisingly beautiful lair. You kill some enemies, la di dah and you fight Malafor, FINALLY!!! He was fun to fight, not like that accursed Golem.
Like i said prior, do not watch the ending videos if you haven’t beaten a game, they contain spoilers.
This will not be the last Spyro game everyone. The company said they plan to make more. If your wondering how I know this check out my other post about Spyro called “Is this the end of Spyro? Part 2” but if you don’t want to look for it i provided a link.
Spyro Enter the Dragonfly
This game is by far the worst Spyro ever created. I was all exited when it came out because it had been a long time since the release of Year of the Dragon. I thought they weren’t going to make anymore. Well they did and they totally soiled the name of Spyro with this game. You play Spyro as always but the charters from previous games have been brought back and messed with. They are totally lame and are limited in their actions repeating them often. The game play is to short and boring as heck. you have to save baby dragonfly’s from Ripto who has come back for revenge. Big whoop. Resurrecting Ripto was not a good idea. It’s lame. This is the first game you receive extra powers such as ice, electricity, crud like that. You even have bubbles! how stupid is that! You have to do stupid tasks like set things on fire and crud. Overall the game sucks! 1.3 out of 5. Really I thought it was that bad.
Syro A Hero’s Tail
This game is a big improvement since Enter the Dragonfly. You play Spyro as always. But some old Favorites have been resurrected. You are allowed to also play as Sgt. Bird, Hunter, Sparx, and a new character Blink the mole, nephew of The Professor. If you played previous games you know the Professor. There’s a new threat. Red the Dragon, A former dragon elder now bent on controlling the dragon realms. He uses Dark Jems to suck the life out of the Realms and use it for his own needs. Knasty Knork comes back a one of Red’s Hench men, the first boss you have to deal with. You once again get special powers, with a new one too. Instead of Lame bubbles you know have water, witch is used to open gates and stuff. Altogether you receive, fire, ice, water, and electricity. You have to use these to solve puzzles and defeat the all time bad boy, Red. It’s fun but there is that round or two you just absolutely hate. I hate playing Blink the mole, he’s such a pain. 4 out of 5.
